Turner Named to Walk of Fame

Ted Turner has always acted like a star: Now he’s getting one.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said Thursday that the Turner Broadcasting System Inc. founder and former Time Warner Inc. vice chairman will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame April 7.

The unveiling ceremony for Turner’s star will feature appearances by actor Jeff Daniels and Turner Classic Movies host Robert Osborne, as well as stars from the "golden age" of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. musicals, including Betty Garrett and Margaret O'Brien, UPI reported.

Turner’s "neighbors" will include the stars of Cybill Shepard, fitness promoter Jack LaLanne and actor Peter Fonda, who was Turner's brother-in-law when Turner was married to actress Jane Fonda, UPI added.
