Turner’s Johnson Wins ‘Young Engineer’ Award

D. Quincy Johnson was named the “2006 SCTE Young Engineer of the Year.”

Johnson is director of technical operations for the network-operations division at Turner Broadcasting System Inc.

The award is sponsored by the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and Multichannel News. It was established to identify and recognize outstanding achievement or contributions in cable telecommunications by an engineering professional under the age of 35. Johnson is 28.

“Quincy has risen through the ranks of Turner with remarkable speed,” Turner senior director Michelle McGuire said in a prepared statement. “This is due in part to his exceptional technical and engineering skills, as well as his unique ability to understand the business and operational implications and concerns.
