New York-based digital consulting firm Omnigon has hired Phil Sharpe to the post of SVP, client strategy and engagement.
Sharpe, late of Turner Broadcasting, will focus on the development and execution of all client strategies for Omnigon. Sharpe reports to Omnigon CEO Igor Ulis.
Sharpe spent the last 14 years with Turner, most recently as SVP, digital strategy and competitiveness, where he helped to lead up digital initiatives across the Turner Broadcasting family.
“Phil’s experience and network of contacts places Omnigon in an optimal position to further our continued growth and support our businesses in North America and abroad,” said Ulis, in a statement.
Also on Monday, the company announced it played a key role in development and release of the official 2015 Rugby World Cup mobile app for World Rugby.
The app will be released in three phases. The first phase of the app will provide World Rugby news, specific team information, tournament dates, venues, ticket information and details, and matches and pools. In the spring, the app will be released in Spanish, French and Japanese, and provide World Cup trophy tour details. The full-phased app, set to launch ahead of the Rugby World Cup in September, is slated to include features that enhance the in-stadia experience including in-venue messaging and offers, live match coverage, expert analysis, stats, scores, and video highlights.
Omnigon’s client roster includes NASCAR, PGA TOUR, WWE, NFL, MLB, IMG, FOX Sports and FOX Broadcasting.
