TV Guide to Debut VOD Content

Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc. executives said during Wednesday's year-end earnings call that the company will spend $5 million-$8 million in 2005 on video-on-demand content, which will debut during the second quarter.

The goal is to provide short-form content, updates of program series and other entertainment news to VOD users.

The content would allow subscribers who have missed a number of episodes of a particular program to get information on what they have missed in plot lines. Content would be updated weekly, Gemstar-TV Guide said.
