TV Guide Network Taps Diane Robina

Diane Robina will provide programming guidance for TV Guide Network, according to the channel.

Robina, who will continue as the president of the multiplatform service FearNet, will now also serve as executive vice president, development, acquisitions and programming strategy for TV Guide Network.

In her new role, Robina will have oversight for developing and implementing a programming strategy, melding acquisitions with the creation of original series and specials aimed at making TV Guide Network a premier destination for television and entertainment aficionados.

Robina’s move to TV Guide Network comes as it has already expanded beyond listings and its coverage of red carpet arrivals at TV and entertainment award shows. To that end, the network is the exclusive cable home of Ugly Betty and also airs American Idol Rewind.

She has already played a role in that fashion. Robina was integral in scoring the U.S. rights for I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story, which became TV Guide Network’s highest-rated special, as well as securing the off-network rights to HBO’s comedy hit Curb Your Enthusiasm, which will premiere on TV Guide Network next month.

“Diane’s passion for television combined with her wealth of experience in launching new networks make her a perfect fit for the position,” TV Guide Network and TVGuide.com president Ryan O’Hara said in a statement. “Diane will play a critical role in helping build TV Guide Network into a place to watch the best and most entertaining shows on television.”
