Larry W. Jones has been promoted to the newly created position of president of TV Land and Nick at Nite, MTV Networks said Tuesday.
Jones will continue to be responsible for day-to-day operations at the two services, and he will still report to MTVN group president and Nickelodeon Networks president Herb Scannell.
His responsibilities have recently expanded to include oversight over all original production and development, as well as advertising sales for the two networks. Jones will also continue to oversee programming, marketing, on-air promotion, online, consumer marketing and ancillary businesses.
"Larry Jones has done a tremendous job of building TV Land and Nick at Nite into brands that embrace and celebrate classic television like no other network in television," Scannell said in a prepared statement.
"Under Larry's leadership, the two brands have repeatedly proven that classic TV shows are not merely reruns: They are treated as treasures that are presented as if for the first time in an environment that's renowned for its freshness and originality," he added.
