TV Land is taking the plunge into the dating show with a new twist on the reality format.
The baby boomer-targeted service has picked up the elimination dating show called the Untitled Cougar Project, in which eligible young men vie for the attention of sexy, accomplished mature women. Through a series of creative and romantic challenges, the men will be eliminated weekly -- at the discretion of the Cougar.
The network will produce one-hour episodes slated to air in early 2009. Casting for participants has begun nationwide. Information can be found at Kasstinginc.com.
The Untitled Cougar Project is produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss serves as executive producer.
The series continues TV Land’s push to add original series to complement its collection of classic off-network shows.
High School Reunion, produced by Fleiss, delivered triple-digit gains across TV Land’s target demo adults 25 to 54, and double-digit gains against its core adults 40-to-54 group.
“We are thrilled to unleash this wild project onto TV Land’s schedule and join other successful and fun-filled shows like High School Reunion from Mike Fleiss,” said Keith Cox, executive vice president, original programming and production, in a statement. “The TV Land audience is looking for entertainment with interesting and compelling storylines –- something Fleiss has proven he can deliver to our audience.”
