TV Land To Televise Live 'Hot In Cleveland,' 'The Soul Man' Episodes

TV Land will air live episodes of its hit sitcoms Hot In Cleveland and The Soul Man in March, the network announced Wednesday.

Hot In Cleveland star Betty White and The Soul Man star Cedric “The Entertainer” will appear on both live shows, which will air March 26 with Hot at 10 p.m., followed by The Soul Man at 10:30, said network officials. The West Coast will get the live-to-tape versions beginning at 10pm (PT).

The live episode will be the second for Hot in Cleveland – the first aired June 19 and averaged 2.7 million viewers L+7, said network officials.

“We shoot in front of a live studio audience every week, but nothing is more exciting than working without a net,” said Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land in a statement. “The thrill of knowing that viewers at home are seeing exactly what’s happening live on stage really amps up the pressure and makes the energy on set electrifying.”

TV Land also announced that it will air an animated episode of Hot In Cleveland as part of the series’ fifth season.
