TV Land and TV Guide are studying TV history.
The network will begin airing five-night special TV Guide and TV Land Present: The 100 Most Memorable TV Moments Monday, Dec. 6 at 10 p.m. (EST/PST).
And TV Guide’s Dec. 5 companion issue will be released with five collector's covers highlighting the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana; The Beatles’ American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show; Elvis Presley's comeback special; Captain Kirk and Uhura sharing TV's first interracial kiss on Star Trek; and the death of National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing legend Dale Earnhardt Sr.
The weeklong special will feature archival clips, original interviews and rare appearances by celebrities who discuss the impact of television's most remarkable moments.
"TV Land continues to establish itself as a destination for fans of contemporary programming with a classic TV twist," TV Land and Nick at Nite president Larry W. Jones said in a prepared statement.
“By partnering our expertise in classic television with TV Guide's 50-year history of covering the medium, we are able to bring our originals to a whole new level,” he added. “The 100 Most Memorable TV Moments enables us both to celebrate and honor all of these moments that have had an impact on our lives."
