Silver Springs, Md. — TV One Wednesday announced several distribution deals that will add more than one million new subscribers by year’s end.
The African-American targeted network will launch next week on Comcast Corp. systems in Indianapolis; Muncie, Ind.; and Augusta, Ga., as well as Cox Communications Inc. systems in New Orleans; Baton Rouge, La.; and Roanoke, Va., said the network.
Those deals come on the heels of recent launches on Comcast cable systems in Los Angeles; Little Rock, Ark; and Southeast Michigan, and Cox systems in Fairfax County and Fredericksburg, Va. With the launches, the network will be in more than 5 million homes by New Year’s day.
“We thank Comcast and Cox for their support of TV One and our goal of gaining distribution in the key U.S. urban markets that will be so critical to the channel’s success,” TV One executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing Brad Samuels in a statement. “We look forward to working with each of these systems to execute customized launch marketing plans that will allow them to maximize the impact of introducing TV One to their current and potential customers.”
