TV One Gets Two Classic Series


TV One will be the new home of Good Times and 227 when the network debuts Jan. 19.

The network acquired the rights to the two series from Sony Pictures Television. Terms were not disclosed.

Good Times aired on CBS from 1974-79 and focused on a poor but proud family in the Chicago projects.

NBC aired 227 from 1985-90, and it featured life in and around an urban apartment building.

TV One is backed by Comcast Corp. and Radio One Inc.
