TV One Inks P&G, GM, Sears

TV One Friday announced charter advertising partnerships with Procter & Gamble Co., General Motors Corp. and Sears, Roebuck & Co.

They join the African-American-targeted cable network’s early advertisers since its Jan. 19 launch: Dell Computer Corp., Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc., GEICO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (marketing upcoming movie Barbershop 2) and Music One Radio Inc.

"TV One will be a powerful tool for marketers seeking to reach the African-American consumer," executive vice president of advertising sales and marketing Keith Bowen said in a release.

"We are delighted that our advertising partners recognize both the buying power of our audience and TV One's potential to become the premier viewing destination of adult African Americans," he added.
