TV One’s the One for Verizon

TV One has been added to Verizon Communications Inc.’s Verizon FiOS TV service under terms of an agreement announced Wednesday.

Comcast Corp. and Radio One Inc. are the major investors in African-American-targeted TV One, which launched in January 2004.

Verizon FiOS TV launched in Keller, Texas, Sept. 22, and the regional Bell operating company hopes to have the service available to nearly 400,000 north Texas households with more than 1 million potential viewers by year-end 2006.

“TV One is a compelling new entertainment network that appeals to African-American viewers, and it advances our commitment to provide relevant programming choices for our culturally diverse customers," Verizon FiOS TV vice president of programming and marketing Terry Denson said in a prepared statement.
