Upstart African-American-targeted network TV One Tuesday named veteran cable-network executive Brad Samuels as its executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing.
Samuels -- who has worked with TV One on a consulting basis since the network’s launch in January -- will head up all aspects of the network’s distribution strategy and operations, including sales, marketing and local ad sales.
Samuels most recently served as Comedy Central’s executive VP of affiliate sales and marketing.
“Brad’s successful track record in building distribution for a stand-alone network is a terrific background for what we are working to achieve at TV One,” CEO Johnathan Rodgers said in a prepared statement.
“In addition, his experience in creating well-respected affiliate-relations initiatives will be invaluable as we build on our programs to establish TV One as a strong marketing resource for distributors seeking to reach their adult African-American community,” he added.
