TV Vision Taps Parker As GM, President

TV Vision Network has named industry Noreen Parker general manager and president.

Parker, most recently president and COO of Internet media firm 7.TV and ReacTV, will lead all aspects of TV Vision Network, which operates a bilingual TV station aimed at U.S.-born Latinos in the Tampa DMA. The service is available on WTAM, which serves Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Sarasota, Manatee, Citrus, Hardee, Hernando and Polk counties, on channel 30. Additionally, it is carried locally by FiOS TV on channel 23.

Although its long-term plans call for further rollouts, TV Vision for the short term will look to further establish its presence in Tampa, according to a spokeswoman for the service.

Adhering to a multi daypart scheduling approach, TV Vision has developed original programming that supports local talent like Project 1805, a weekly music video countdown with English and Spanish music videos, celebrity interviews, comedy sketches and an opportunity to highlight key venues in and around Tampa; El Mundo de Luisitin, where where kids can speak, sing and follow Luisitin's adventures in both Spanish and English with 2D and 3D animation; and an entertainment sports news show Total Action featuring the latest sports events in and around Tampa from professional teams, including amateur boxing, mixed martial arts and extreme sports.

For Parker, the leadership position at TV Vision represents a professional homecoming of sorts as she previously served as president and general manager of WTSP-TV, the CBS affiliate in Tampa. Her career has also included stints in senior management and sales positions with other stations, and as the owner of strategic planning and marketing company.

“Noreen has demonstrated her ability to develop and implement innovative strategies that build customer loyalty with both viewers and advertisers. She will be instrumental in developing our presence in the local community and integrating our broadcast and digital operations,” said Gerry Torres, CFO of TV Vision Networks LLC, in a statement. “She is considered an innovative digital strategist and her experience in both traditional broadcast and Internet will enable TV Vision Network to develop content that will appeal to our viewers across all platforms.”
