TV5Monde has debuted its first U.S. video-on-demand channel with Cox's New Orleans cable system.
Positioned on Channel 1635, French-languageTV5Monde will feature documentaries, cooking and travel programming, as well as fare dedicated to Franco culture. TV5 Monde officials said French is spoken in 20% of the households in the New Orleans DMA. The channel carries English subtitles.
VOD user can learn about all aspects of the culture in series such as Gumb-Oh! LÃ ! LÃ ! and Destinations GoÃts, and the service will also feature coverage ofthe New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
