TVG Network andThe New York Racing Association Inc. reached a multiyear exclusive license agreement for the television and account wagering rights for races conducted at Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga.
New York’s Off Track Betting will continue to receive all NYRA signals, as it has in the past.
TVG and NYRA originally entered into an exclusive relationship in 1999, just prior to the launch of the network’s television programming.
Under the new agreement, racing from the three NYRA tracks will continue to be a year-round anchor of TVG’s programming, which is currently available in approximately 12.7 million households nationwide. In addition, TVG account holders will be able to interactively wager on NYRA races.
“We are extremely pleased that TVG will continue delivering exclusive racing content from Aqueduct, Belmont Park and Saratoga to our viewers, wagering customers, distributors and advertisers for many years to come,” TVG president Ryan O’Hara said in a prepared statement.
“This programming is among the best content that racing has to offer, and it presents some of the most popular and compelling wagering opportunities for our customers,” he added.
TVG Network is owned by Gemstar-TV Guide International Inc.
