TVN Entertainment Corp. announced a deal with Intel Corp. to license and
co-develop on-demand premium content for PCs via broadband cable modems.
TVN's content will be integrated with Intel's content-distribution
technology, allowing operators to deliver personalized and secure premium
content to high-speed subscribers.
TVN is pitching MSOs on the benefits of its Intel deal. 'This allows TVN to
provide MSOs with a first-mover strategy against other movie-download offerings
over cable modems or DSL [digital subscriber line] customers in their specific
regions,' TVN president Ian Aaron said in a prepared statement.
As such, TVN would provide operators with the ability to deliver content to
pay-per-view, video-on-demand and cable-modem platforms.
