TWC SportsNet Flanking Lakers' Telecasts with Second-Screen Experiences

Time Warner Cable SportsNet is bringing Los Angeles Lakers fans a second-screen experience during its coverage of the NBA club.

The “TWC SportsNet” app provides second-screen users with exclusive, real-time content during live Lakers games, as well as all pre- and post-game shows on the network. Second-screen features include interviews, behind-the-scenes content, instant replays, interactive prompts, player and game facts, poll questions, game stats, scores from around the NBA and live Twitter chatter about Lakers.  For iPad users, the application also offers a picture-in-picture feature that allows fans to interact with the second screen and watch the game on their tablet at the same time.

Launched on Dec. 20 in conjunction with the Lakers' game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, RSN officials say thousands of fans have used the second-screen application to date.

Fans have access to the new, interactive second-screen experience on their iPhone or iPad by selecting the “TWCS 2NDSCREEN” tab in the “TWC SportsNet” application.  To access the second-screen features, fans must be authenticated Time Warner Cable SportsNet users, have the most updated version of the TWC SportsNet application and be within the Time Warner Cable SportsNet territory.

TWC SportsNet can be found on AT&T U-verse, Bright House Networks, Catalina Broadband, Champion Broadband, Charter, Cox Communications, DircecTV, Hawaiian Telcom, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS systems.

TWC SportsNet remains the only RSN that is live-streaming NBA games on a TV Everywhere basis.
