Two New Shows for TV Guide

Bolstering its original offerings, TV Guide Channel will bow a pair of new weekly series later this month.

The navigation channel will fill its Monday 8 p.m. slot with Open Call, a behind-the-scenes look at the process of casting for TV in Hollywood. The show follows one of the most experienced casting directors in the business, Marki Costello. It begins with a look for talent in the episode entitled, “The Search for TV’s Next Tycoon.”

Two days later, Seeing Stars bows, also in the 8 p.m. hour. The series tracks hypnotist Ricky Kalmon as he encounters real people on the street and convinces them that they are a TV personality or are appearing on their favorite show.

These programs join TV Guide’s 8 p.m. original-programming hour, which features specials on Sundays, Look-a-Like on Tuesdays, movie-focused Flicks on Thursdays, fresh installments of 411 on Fridays and Close-Up on Saturdays.
