Nickelodeon will debut in July and August two original made-for-TV movies: tween-oriented comedy-fantasy The Last Day of Summer and teen comedy Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp.
The first, airing Friday, July 20 at 8 p.m., follows the story of Luke Maloy (Jansen Panettiere) as the soon-to-be-middle-schooler who gets his wish for a long, hot summer. The movie will be followed at 9:30 p.m. by a behind-the-scenes special with cast interviews.
Promoting The Last Day of Summer, Panettiere and other cast members will appear July 19 in interstitials on TEENick.
The second movie, starring Drake Bell and Josh Peck from Nick series Drake vs. Josh, debuts Friday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m.
The network will follow up Aug. 4 with an eight-hour Drake vs. Josh marathon hosted by Miranda Cosgrove (Drake vs. Josh sister Megan). The marathon will end with a sneak preview of iCarly, Cosgrove’s own NICKTeen series slated for September.
Comedy series iCarly follows Carly Shay, a level-headed teen who hosts her own home-grown Web show. The show will incorporate user-generated content from real viewers.
