Susquehanna Communications and Blue Ridge Communications have agreed to roll
out Commerce.TV's enhanced-TV and shopping services to their cable customers
later this year.
Susquehanna, an MSO that serves 190,000 subscribers, said it will launch
Commerce.TV in York, Pa., later this month using Scientific-Atlanta Inc. digital
Blue Ridge, meanwhile, will deploy the service in its northeastern
Pennsylvania territories, with the town of Palmerton being the first system to
come online by the third quarter.
Both operators will deploy Commerce.TV's electronic wallet and commerce
infrastructure, offering customers such features as real-time digital purchase
receipts, on-screen order status and a 'favorites' list.
Commerce.TV's 'CoreTVnet' database delivers customizable merchant offers
directly to viewers' set-tops and processes each transaction.
