Not only did former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson tattoo Clifford Etienne
during his Feb. 22 bout, he also punched up strong pay-per-view and Showtime
The fight, in which Tyson knocked out Etienne within 49 seconds, drew around
100,000 PPV buys at $24.95 a pop, according to early Showtime Event Television
The event also aired simultaneously on Showtime, which logged its
third-highest-rated Tyson fight of all time, although network executives would
not reveal specific figures.
The fight also ranks among the top-10 highest-performing Showtime boxing
telecasts in more than one decade, the network said.
