UFC Goes Live on Spike TV


Spike TV will air the first-ever live Ultimate Fighting Championship fight card on basic cable, the network said.

The network will broadcast live from the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas Saturday, Aug. 6 at 9 p.m. (EST).

Participants in Ultimate Fight Night will include Stephan Bonnar (The Ultimate Fighter finalist), Kenny Florian (The Ultimate Fighter finalist), Chris Leben, Sam Hoger, Alex Karalexis, Mike Swick, Josh Koscheck and Nate Quarry, with the main event pitting veteran Chilean-born middleweight Ivan Salaverry against Colorado native Nathan Marquardt.

The second season of The Ultimate Fighter will premiere on Spike TV Monday, Aug. 22 at 11 p.m. (EST/PST), featuring 18 up-and-coming mixed-martial-arts fighters.
