UJA-Federation of New York’s Broadcast, Cable & Film Division will honor Andrew Lack, CEO of Bloomberg Media Group next month.
Lack will be honored at UJA Federation’s Broadcast, Cable & Film annual event on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at The Edison Ballroom in Manhattan. Each year, the division honors a professional in the field of media for his or her philanthropic leadership and service to the New York Jewish community. Funds raised will go to UJA-Federation of New York’s annual campaign that helps sustain a network of nearly 100 health and human-service agencies in New York, in Israel, and around the world.
Matt Lauer will emcee the event and Katie Couric will present Lack with his award. The event will feature a special musical performance by Tony Bennett.
Lack, a winner of 16 Emmy Awards and four Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Awards, joined Bloomberg in 2008 as CEO of its Global Media Group, where he is responsible for the company’s expanding television, Internet, mobile, radio, and consumer print operations. Prior to his role at Bloomberg, Lack was chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment. Lack has also held the positions of president and COO of NBC, president of NBC News, and executive producer at CBS News.
The Broadcast, Cable & Film event chairs are Daniel Doctoroff of Bloomberg L.P.; Michael Dolan of IMG Worldwide, Inc.; Patricia Fili-Krushel of NBCUniversal News Group; Sheila Nevins of HBO; Charlie Rose of CBS News, PBS, and Bloomberg Television; Ben Sherwood of ABC News; and David Zaslav of Discovery Communications.
