Attendees at the National Show in San Francisco April 3 will face a picket line populated by the Communications Workers of America, the AFL-CIO, Media Alliance, Exchange and Code Pink.
According to the CWA, the demonstration is to protest media consolidation.
Cable companies use their market power to raise rates and invade customers' privacy, as well as to harass employees who speak up for their rights, according to a call for action issued by the CWA. The union is especially targeting Comcast Corp., the dominant operator in the San Francisco Bay area.
The unions have called for the rally to begin at 2 p.m. outside the Moscone Center.
