Univision Communications Inc. modified the makeup of its forthcoming Spanish-language digital tier and named a former TVN Entertainment Corp. executive to manage the operation.
The tier will contain five Spanish-language digi-nets by the end of the year.
Two of those channels, TeleHit and Ritmoson Latino, were originally designed as all-music-video networks featuring Latino talent.
Both will now offer concerts, entertainment-news segments and lifestyle magazine-format series, as well as videos.
De Pelicula and De Pelicula Clasico, two all-film services featuring titles from Spain, Mexico and Latin America; and Bandamax, featuring music videos in Tex-Mex and other Mexican genres, round out the tier.
Grupo Televisa SA will program all five services. Univision didn't announce cable affiliates for the new channels.
Univision and Grupo Televisa named Mark Feldman, TVN's former chief operating officer, to run the venture from Los Angeles.
Carlos Madrazo, a member of ING Barings' Latin America media investment-banking group, will come on as chief financial officer.
