Univision Interactive Media Rings Up Digital Gains With World Cup

Univision Interactive Media has put a lot of users and views in the back of its multiplatform net duirng the first seven days of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Through the first week of the tournament, Univision Interactive Media's coverage generated 108 million total page views and 14 million visits across its interactive platforms.
Live streaming, extensive match coverage and commentary yielded 2.5 million hours of video to date from June 11-17. During the live matches, daily video consumption has increased to an average of 1 hour and 20 minutes and daily unique streams have grown to over a quarter million, according to Conviva data.
UIM has set record traffic every day since the start of the World Cup across the board -- site wide on Univision.com, on UnivisionFutbol.com, during live video streaming, and across mobile offerings. In fact, traffic levels more than doubled that of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, according to officials at the Spanish-language leader in the U.S.
The day seven matches on June 17 boosted the site to its best streaming day to date, with over 410,000 unique media players streaming the matches live. Simultaneous streams peaked at nearly 200,000 during Mexico's 2-0 victory in the second-round Group A match..
Univision Fútbol's mobile offerings have also set multiple records, with some 24.5 million page views and more than 5 million visits have been served on mobile platforms since the tournament began, according to Quattro Wireless. Day seven topped the lot, with nearly 1 million visits generated.
