Univision Unveils Its Latest Televisa-Produced Telenovela

Univision hopes its audience goes head over heels over its latest telenovela import from Mexico.

De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero (“I Really Do Love You”), a Televisa-produced soap that has aired in Mexico on Canal de las Estrellas since last July, took over the 7 p.m. weeknight slot on Univision March 10. It replaces Mentir Para Vivir, which shifted from the 10 p.m. slot to the early primetime hour on December 23 due to disappointing ratings.

Newcomers Livia Brito and Juan Diego Covarrubias take on the leading roles in the novela, which features a couple reunited after a breakup clouded in misunderstanding following a shocking event. Veteran actors, including Cynthia Klitbo (La Dueña), round out the cast.

De Que Te Quiero will vie for viewers against MundoFox game show 100 Latino Dijeron, a Spanish-language take on the venerable Family Feud that has emerged as one of the network’s strongest prime-time offerings.

De Que Te Quiero will also seek to pull viewers away from Telemundo’s courtroom offering, Caso Cerrado: Edición Estelar; Azteca América’s Cuna de Gato, a Globo-produced Brazilian novela dubbed into Spanish; and Esto Es Guerra, a reality game show on Estrella TV.
