MSG Network Tuesday night (Nov. 8) will honor legendary boxer "Smokin' Joe" Frazier with a special primetime block of programming.
The special block of programming for Frazier, who died Monday night after battling liver cancer, will feature MSG original programs, including an airing of Frazier's 1970 TKO of Jimmy Ellis from Madison Square Garden in
which Frazier won his first world title, the network said.
Other programming will include a profile of Frazier's epic 1971battle with Muhammad Ali from MSG as part of t he network's 50 Greatest Moments documentary series. Also, the block includes Frazier's sit-down interview with MSG broadcaster Fran Healy in an episode of the network's documentary series Halls of Fame.
Pay Tv service HBO Thursday will pay tribute to Frazier's legacy with a special encore play of the 2009 Thriller In Manilla documentarychronicling the three epic battles between Frazier and Ali, said network officials.
