Turner Boadcasting's upfront was derailed Wednesday by technical difficulties as the projector that shows clips from shows went dark.
After the delay, Turner Entertainment Networks President Steve Koonin jumped on stage, introducing himself saying "my name is Steve Koonin, formerly with Turner Broadcasting."
He said he was about to do something no TV executive has ever done at an upfront "and that's talk without a TelePrompter."
Turner was briefly able to resume its presentation more or less as normal. The programmer issued a statement while the presentation was in progress attributing the problem to a power surge.
