The Consumer Electronics Association has added some Washington muscle to its HDTV Summit.

The trade group announced Thursday that House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) will deliver the opening keynote address at the Washington, D.C., Convention Center March 29.

The confab -- HDTV Summit: Partnership, Policy and Profits -- will also feature an industry leaders panel with National Association of Broadcasters president and CEO Eddie Fritts, National Cable & Telecommunications Association president and CEO Robert Sachs and CEA president and CEO Gary Shapiro.
