USA Postpones ‘Shooter’ Until Fall

USA Network has once again postponed the premiere of its drama series Shooter after Sunday’s horrific police shooting in Baton Rouge.

The series was supposed to debut July 26 after the network last Monday postponed the show’s initial July 19 premiere due to the July 7 police shootings in Dallas. USA said in a statement Monday that it would push the debut of the series to the fall after Sunday’s police shootings.

“After further consideration, USA Network, Paramount TV and Universal Cable Productions have decided to move the premiere of Shooter to the fall,” the network said.

 The series, based on the 2007 movie of the same name starring Mark Wahlberg, follows a US veteran and hero who is wrongly accused of a crime, and is trying to clear his name and return to his family.
