USA Network is going forward with a six-hour miniseries adaptation of
Traffic, the award-winning British TV miniseries about drug smugglers
that spawned an Oscar-winning 2000 movie.
Stephen Hopkins, executive producer and director of Fox's popular 24,
will direct two hour-long Traffic segments and serve as one of the
Balthazar Getty, last seen in Fox soap-opera parody Pasadena, and Mary
McCormack of Full Frontal, the new Steven Soderberg film (and one of
Traffic's Oscar winners), will co-star in USA's production.
Traffic is expected to premiere by next fall.
