Verizon Wireless V Cast Video phones will host a series of promotional mobisodes for TBS’s hit sitcom, Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. The series is cable’s top comedy series among adults 18 to 49 and among African-American viewers, according to network officials.
Running from 60 seconds to three minutes in length, the specially produced content can be found on TBS’s Very Funny Channel, which launched in late July on V Cast Video service. To date, 10 mobisodes have been created.
During its first season House of Payne, which got off to a record start with its June 6 debut, has averaged 3.1 million viewers, including 1.67 million adult 18-to-49 watchers, according to Nielsen Media Research data, based on live plus seven day measurements.
“Offering original content like the House of Payne mobisodes through Verizon Wireless is a unique way to continue to serve the fan base of this very popular show,” said Jeff Gregor, chief marketing officer for TBS, TNT and TCM, in a statement. “Original content like these mobisodes, combined with clips from our hall-of-fame sitcoms and previews of upcoming TBS shows, allow us to expand the reach of the TBS Very Funny brand into the mobile world.”
In addition to the Payne mobisodes, comedy fans can also access clips from TBS’s lineup, including Seinfeld, King of Queens, Family Guy and Everybody Loves Raymond, via V Cast Video. The channel also intermittently offers sneak peaks of upcoming TBS programming, such as upcoming late-night series Frank TV.
