Comcast Corp.-backed Vehix.com (www.vehix.com) said it added 306 automotive dealers during February and March, expanding the number of local dealers that it represents to more than 1,500.
Vehix.com runs a sales program designed to increase the number of local cable ads that are sold to auto dealers.
Consumers who look for information about cars on Vehix.com are directed to local auto dealers that have deals with the site. The operators use Vehix.com an incentive for auto dealers to buy local cable ads.
Vehix.com was co-founded by AT&T Media Services in 2000, and Comcast inherited a minority stake in the firm through its acquisition of AT&T Broadband. Garff Enterprises, which owns many auto dealerships, is the majority owner.
