Looking to pump up its sub base as service penetrations continue to show signs of saturation, Verizon Communications has booted up an online promotion that is pitching a triple-play combo, with a symmetrical 100 Mbps broadband connection and the telco’s Custom TV package, for $69.99 per month to customers who make the switch.
“Go online and switch to Fios Triple Play and get 100/100 Mbps Internet + Custom TV + Home Phone for just $69.99 per month, for one year, with no annual contract,” the company notes in this blog post about the offer.
According to DSL Reports, which first came across the offer, customers who partake are still on the hook for a $150 installation fee.
And one of several online exclusives being offered by the company. Others include a FioS double-play (50 Mbps with FiOS TV local with no sports channels, but a year of HBO) for $50 per month; a double-play (50 Mbps with Verizon’s Custom TV package) for $64.99 per month, with a two-year agreement; and a 50 Mbps standalone offer for $49.99 per month, also with a two-year contract.
Verizon FiOS is making those online pitches as it looks to stoke subscriber growth in the wake of a fourth quarter in which it added just 20,000 FiOS TV subs and signed on 99,000 FiOS Internet subs, down from 145,000 adds in the year-ago period.
