Verizon FiOS has provided the baseball games and other SNY and YES programming in standard-definition over the past four years.
The first HD VOD games available will stem from SNY's coverage of he Mets opener against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday April 5, and YES's April 6 telecast of the Yankees game against the Tampa Rays.
In addition to the games, other popular YES Network and SNY fare also will be provided in HD in the FiOS1 Local Zone folder.
"Our subscribers can't get enough of the hometown Yankees and Mets," said Orlando Martinez, Verizon director of FiOS1 sports content, in announcing the service addition. "By giving them the ability to watch our crystal-clear, high-definition broadcasts of their favorite baseball teams on their own time, or as a replay, we're providing more entertainment value and greater choice.
