Verizon FiOS TV Rolls Out Utilisima U.S.

Verizon FiOS TV has added Fox International Channel's Utilisima U.S. to its Spanish-language content offering.

The 100% Spanish-language lifestyle network is now part of FiOS TV's extensive channel lineup, which includes 27 Spanish-language channels in addition to nearly 40 other international channels covering more than 20 languages. Deal terms were not disclosed.

Utilisima U.S. launched July 12 in FiOS TV markets in Maryland and Virginia, and will be accessible to all of its regions by week's-end. The channel is available in the FiOS TV Extreme HD, Ultimate HD, La Conexion and Spanish-language packages.

Fox International bowed a U.S. version of Utilisima back in May. The international version of the network long has been carried by Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cablevision, Charter and Dish Network.

"Verizon is once again enhancing FiOS TV's multicultural channel lineup, this time with the country's newest Spanish-language network," said Suzette Baez, director of content strategy and acquisition for Verizon in announcing the rollout. "With the introduction of Utilisima U.S., we continue to grow our already diverse selection of multicultural content, once again making FiOS TV the ultimate home-entertainment experience."

"Latina viewers throughout the world love Utilisima U.S. because it features entertaining original programming that they can't find elsewhere," said Hernan Lopez, president and COO, Fox International Channels. "We are thrilled that Verizon FiOS subscribers will now have access to the channel and that the network's reach is quickly growing in the U.S."

Positioned on FiOS TV channel 1582, Utilisima's programming spans a host of genres, including food, home improvement, health and beauty, parenting and crafts. The network's signature shows include Design Shop, offering a look at the creation of unique home objects; Beauty Plan, which provides an array of tips to highlight and renovate women's beauty styles; Being a Woman, a program that addresses motherhood, children's education, relationships, self-esteem conflicts and more; and Make it Simple, addressing simple ways to make souvenirs, paintings and other items.
