Verizon Gets R.I. Compliance Order for FiOS TV
The Rhode Island Division of Public Utilities and Carriers granted a compliance-order certificate to Verizon Communications Wednesday, marking the next step toward the telco offering its FiOS TV service to some 80,000 households in the state.
The DPUC completed its 11-month proceeding and found that the telco’s technical, financial and managerial qualifications to operate a cable system in the state’s service area 6 were in compliance with the division's rules and regulations.
Service area 6 encompasses Coventry, East Greenwich, Exeter, North Kingstown, Warwick, West Greenwich and West Warwick.
