Verizon Inks WGN, Tribune

Verizon Communications Inc. has added a superstation to its Verizon FiOS TV programming lineup.

The regional Bell operating company announced a programming-distribution pact Thursday with Superstation WGN.

The agreement also covers retransmission consent for WGN parent Tribune Broadcasting’s 26 TV stations and carriage of their analog and digital signals.

Verizon FiOS TV launched in Keller, Texas, Sept. 22, and the RBOC hopes to have the service available to nearly 400,000 north Texas households with more than 1 million potential viewers by year-end 2006.
