Verizon Names Killian CFO

Verizon Communications announced Thursday it has appointed John Killian, previously president of the telco's business unit, executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective March 1.
Killian, 54, replaces Doreen Toben, who said last week she plans to retire around the middle of this year.
Before heading up Verizon Business, Killian was CFO for Verizon's Domestic Telecom group.

After the Bell Atlantic-GTE merger that formed Verizon in 2000, he was appointed senior vice president of customer operations and later served as Verizon's controller.
