Verizon Wins Holliston Franchise

Verizon said it won a franchise agreement for its FiOS TV service in Holliston, Mass.

The telephone company will compete with Comcast in Holliston, which counts 5,000 households.

The Board of Selectman in Holliston voted Monday night to grant Verizon a pay TV franchise. With the Holliston agreement, Verizon counts 59 franchise deals in Massachusetts.

Verizon is marketing FiOS TV to more than 400,000 households in 56 Massachusetts communities. It also sells FiOS in parts of New York, New Jersey, California, Delaware, Texas, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Virginia.
