Versus Records Ratings, Demo Gains With Opening Round Of NHL Playoffs


Versus continues to skate fast among Nielsen households with its coverage of the National Hockey League playoffs.
Comcast's national sports network averaged a 0.6 household rating and 552,000 viewers for its 12 days of conference quarterfinal round coverage through April 25/ The rating and average viewership over 28 games represented gains of 50% and 25%, respectively, when gauged against 0.4 and 442,000 marks through the same span during last year's postseason.

Moreover, Versus lit the demo lamp with advances against guys 18 to 34 (up 5%), males 18 to 49 (10%) and men 25 to 54 (23%).

The network's conference quarterfinal round coverage continues April 27 at 8 p.m. (ET) with Hockey Central, followed by Game 7 in the Detroit Red Wings/Phoenix Coyotes series at 9 p.m. The network's first-round coverage culminates tomorrow with the decisive seventh game between the Washington Capitals/Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m.
