Original movie The Breaks (Working Title), inspired by journalist Dan Charnas’ book The Big Payback, is in the works for a Fall 2015 premiere date, VH1 announced today.

The Big Payback tells a narrative history of the hip-hop business, and The Breaks will follow three friends and their triumphs to impact the music industry.

Seith Mann (The Wire, The Walking Dead, Homeland) serves as the writer, director and executive producer for the movie, with Dan Charnas as an executive producer as well. Charnas also co-wrote the story for the script. VH1 executive producers include, Susan Levison, Bill Flanagan and Maggie Malina.

VH1 Storytellers Live is also set to air in an all-new format, where Ed Sherran will kick off the new season in Dublin, Ireland on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m.

Sherran will share his past inspirations and experiences at the specific Dublin venue, as this will be the first time the network will broadcast live from a place of meaning to the artist.
