Continuing to evolve its programming lineup, VH1 has entered into a
multimillion-dollar agreement with MGM Television to develop and produce a
minimum of five made-for-TV films over the next three years.

The first film being developed together by VH1 and MGM is a remake of 1960s
musical Beach Blanket Bingo, the companies announced.

Keythe Farley, Brian Fleming and Laurence O'Keefe, producers of off-Broadway
play BatBoy The Musical, will develop the film, according to VH1
executives.

After producing three original movies in 2001, the network is expecting to
roll out as many as six telepics this year.

VH1's most recent TV film release -- Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story --
generated a 1.5 rating last December.
