Victor Takes Key Role At Comcast Business

Comcast Cable has named Robert Victor to the post of senior vice president, finance and business operations for Comcast Business, a unit that has become an important growth engine for the MSO.

Victor, who reports to Comcast Business president Bill Stemper, succeeds Gary Rostick, who has been appointed CFO of Comcast Spectacor, Comcast’s Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment firm.

Comcast also announced the promotion of Stephen Perez to VP, financial planning and operations, from executive director, financial planning and analysis.

Victor most recently served as SVP of strategic and financial planning for Comcast Corp, where he oversaw corporate strategy and financial planning functions and reported to Comcast vice chairman and CFO.  Victor also co-led transition of NBCUniversal from GE to Comcast and the integration of NBCUniversal’s and Comcast’s Cable networks, and has been involved in several industry initiatives, including developing Cable WiFi, a Wi-Fi roaming alliance that also includes Time Warner Cable, Cablevision Systems, Cox Communications and Bright House Networks.

Victor, who will spearhead financial planning, reporting and analysis for Comcast Business, joins a unit that generated $836 million in revenues in the third quarter of 2013, putting it on pace for an annual run rate of $3.3 billion.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bob for the past six years.  He is an executive who focuses on financial returns and has strengthened the organization’s strategic capabilities,” Angelakis said, in a statement. “I’m delighted he’s joining Bill Stemper and the Comcast Business team during this exciting time of growth and acceleration for us in the commercial sector.”

“Bob brings a proven track record of strategic and financial planning skills that will help ensure Comcast Business continues its rapid expansion,” added Stemper.  “He will help us maintain the strong financial competencies that Gary Rostick established and work with our team to pursue new paths for growth.”

Prior to joining Comcast, Victor was partner and managing director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and headed the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice on the East Coast.  He earned an AB degree from Dartmouth College and a JD degree from Harvard Law School.

Perez joined Comcast in 2004 as an internal audit manager, and was promoted to senior manager, financial planning in 2008. Prior to joining Comcast, Perez worked for The Siegfried Group and Arthur Anderson.
