VH1’s celebration of the 1970s’ music and pop-culture happenings struck a
chord with quite a few viewers this past week.
Running from 9 p.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, I Love the 70s averaged a
0.8 rating among the network’s target demo of adults 18-49. That bested the
performance in those time slots the previous week by 167% and the prior four
weeks’ average by 100%.
Viewership peaked during the final hours Aug. 20 and 21 at a 1.1.
VH1 executives said the final hour of "1977" Aug. 21 was the highest-rated
program among all of basic cable that evening and the most-watched show on basic
and premium, attracting 1.2 million of those viewers.
The project’s final installment was slated for Friday.
