FiOS Sounds Start Of VOD Music Festival

For those who enjoy concerts, but don’t like the summer heat or the assembled hordes, Verizon FiOS is presenting an on-demand music festival of sorts during July and August.

The telco, working symphonically with Music Choice, AXS TV and Concert TV, is offering the "FiOS On Demand Virtual Music Festival" that showcases top touring artists and concerts from the likes of like Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Iggy Azeala, Luke Bryan, Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Kate Nash, The Who, Guns ‘n Roses, and Ringo Starr. among others.

All told, over 100 videos of music and an assortment of concert videos will be available free and on demand during July and August, including individual videos offered by Music Choice featuring four categories: headliners, R&B and Hip-hop, EDM, Country and Fiesta Latina. Previously recorded concerts on AXS TV and Concert TV featuring David Gilmour, Yes, Vintage Trouble, White Lies, MGMT, La Roux and more will also cut across musical genres, offering entertainment that appeals to many people.

"Our on-demand library is usually about movies and TV series, and now, music and performances have an important place there, too,” said Joe Lawson, Verizon director of video content and acquisition. “Music sets the mood and takes you to memories directly linked to songs or concerts. This Virtual Music Festival allows consumers to bring up the memories with those songs and couple them with videos and concerts, free and on demand, without having to find a parking space or spend a small fortune on tickets and concessions.”

FiOS subscribers can go to channel 900 to find the Virtual Music Festival On Demand folder to select their videos and performances of choice. In addition to the videos and performances, this folder will also include a special Essence Music Festival folder where videos and content with key performers from this year’s event can be viewed.
