Gotuit Media Corp. will power Scripps Networks’ video-on-demand products during a trial with Time Warner Cable of Maine, Gotuit said Monday.
Under terms of the agreement, Scripps’ content -- from its Home & Garden Television On Demand, Food Network On Demand, DIY On Demand and Fine Living On Demand -- will be enhanced with Gotuit's technology, providing viewers with direct access to segments of their favorite programs.
Gotuit’s flagship offering, "Gotuit On Demand," is a patented indexing technology that combines segment metadata with on-demand video content, allowing consumers to quickly access the parts of a show in which they are the most interested.
"We look forward to working with Gotuit Media on our Scripps channels with Time Warner Cable of Maine," Scripps Networks senior vice president of emerging media Channing Dawson said in a prepared statement.
"There are many practical applications for Gotuit's VOD technology that will work well with our HGTV, DIY, Fine Living and the Food Network interactive lineup," Dawson added.
